lol no point dantson lol !!!!

Yeah bigD, i think its good that you had an professionnal opinion. Now, you can either take his advice and mix it with your own style. Im sure it wont be a problem for you. I think it is a good excercice to take a little sample and make something around it. When you reach the point that people are trying to figure out if you did some sampling or composing on a track, that means that you had Good arrangements. Practice is the key. As for me, im trying Real hard to make other stuff than R&b. I think am jealous of everyone who has hiphop in their blood. I need practice too lol.
I didnt know that having a good hear was important to produce. It is very motivating to have that kind of reality check. I feel you!

HIP HOP AND R&B ARE NOT IN DIRECT CONFLICT OR COMEPTITION WITH EACH OTHER... THERE ARE PLENTY OF CROSS-OVER ARTISTS IN THE INDUSTRY... BUT MAYBE AS A PRODUCER U SHOULD INCORPORATE ONE INTO THE OTHER... INSTEAD OF FIGHTING A BATTLE OF ONE OVER THE OTHER...

i think it must be hard for someone who was used to sample or composing in his way for so long, to have to try another way to do it. As a producer, we should be able to do the maximum as we possibly can musically. In the other hands, there PLENTY establish artist that dosent know how to play an instrument and they made it anyways. Life is weird.

WoW I remember this thread, I heard the news earlier but I could not believe it, but I had to hear it from Dre of the Narcotics, the cat that has helped me out like soooooo much in the last 6 months or so to help me elevate my game, he just called me after spending the night at baseline in NY and he just nailed the official Tierra Marie remix featuring Jay Z and Kanye West...Young Guru was putting the finishing touches on it......they were all going out and celebrating I was like damn this is crazy and that is going to be their first BIG record and its HoT actually it is up in the raw format on vipradio (without Jay or Kanye on it but Stimuli)..I had the first listen b4 anyone.....I wish it was me but he already told me he would sign me once things fall into place and the music is ready....but this is a testament that your grind can pay off...

Hey I got a reality check today, my man Dre Knight of the production team the Narcotics and producer for Stimuli one of the sickest MC's right now, www.shastimuli.com dropped thru my lab today, he let me hear his new mixtape coming out and some tracks no one has heard Stimuli on and they were hot...the songs on the site are hot but you have to have heard the album material , he is absolutely one of the sickest producers I have seen or worked with and if you think 9th wonder is sick, he is currently working with Just Blaze right now because I think he is producing 5 tracks for Stimuli too...LOL...he not only flips samples like most hip hop producers, he's very accomplished musician, songwriter etc...hes produced stuff for Carl Thomas too so you know he is nice with the keys( I mean unbelievably gifted) and also doing hip hop...he has to be the most versatile producer and since he just inked in his deal with Virgin you are gonna hear more about him real soon....allhiphop.com and the source is already giving him props, I don't generally kiss other producers asses either...LOL but he showed me a couple things in my lab that need to be changed big time which I sort of already knew, he came thru though and worked out on MY equipment in the lab, made a couple of tracks and gave out pointers and showed me how his process is.....the weak point in my setup shined thru with someone else to put their eyes on your setup that has worked out in Top Notch million dollar labs....I had wrong cables, also he showed me some reasons why my sound isn't anywhere as near as good as it can be, I have been using my triton for loading my samples only because its easier to chop but I sell myself short, he showed me how to chop on the 3000 but recommended I get a 1000 or 2000...(which already had a fully loaded 2000 and sold it damn...) but the main thing about him is he told me most of my material is sub par, he let me hear his instrumentals ALL SOLID MUSICAL material, he told me I might luck out and sell something on a major but he gave me some pointers on chord structure and how to interpolate your samples, pick out melodies and chords in the sample and add to it and even make chord changes....he places samples and plays all around so you would never even notice the sample, he had this hot marvin gaye sample that was incredible .......anyhow it pays to team up with some other producers that have their shidd tight, that will go a long ways.....bottom line he told me he was going to help me but I have to take his advice and keep honing my craft.....and just concentrate on my overall package, keep it consistent and I will get there.........

Hey D, good going man. I know you are going to make it BIG. Thank U fro sharing what you have so humbly learned. I'm gonna apply it as well and hope I meet with you UP THERE with the big doggz. I wish you ALL the best!
