December 4th isn't just the name of a great Jay-Z song, it is now the slated release date for two of 2007's most anticipated albums. Both Wu-Tang and Saigon have been given the winter release date from their respective labels. Wu, who is returning with their first album in 6 years, just had their November 13th release date for 8 Diagrams pushed back by Universal.
Saigon and his highly anticipated The Greatest Story Never Told has never actually had a release date from Atlantic and has been the subject of much talk this summer when he lashed out at the label. His Just Blaze-produced debut has finally been pegged with a date now.
Whether or not either album will actually drop on the day remains to be seen, as does whether or not these artists will play into the hype the way Kanye and 50 did. Either way, fans should have something to look forward to this winter.
Hip Hop is so lame right now. No creativity what so ever! I'm not talking about the artist, both are nice! I'm referring to the labels and their promotion schemes. Everybodys gonna jump on the Ye and Fif publicity stunt bang wagon. Shit is worse than reality t.v.!
