Its funny how "evening the playing field" is called Socialism now. Alot of these people crying socialism don't really understand how fugged up the economic structure is .. McCain thinks that raising taxes on those making 250,000 or more will hurt small business. PLEASE. Thats ridiculous. Do you know what hurts small business the most? the answer is quite obvious actually. BIG BUSINESS hurts small business the most. Wanna open a grocery store? NOT gonna see too much profit with that SUPER WAl MART down the block where u can buy evrything u would ever need in life ever lol. . The only small businesses that are really successful are the specialty /niche trades and businesses, and even those are getting wiped out by the BEST BUYS,WAL MARTS, and TARgets and other one stop shops of the world. Capitalism unchecked eventually turns into Monopolies. Its just the natural order of things. Its pretty much already happened/happening with the banks, several HUGE national banks were absorbed into others over the last 60 days. If these tax breaks and other pleasures keep being given to companies, especially ones that outsource overseas, Dont be suprised in the next few years if u see some crazy shit like fucking BOA taking over your heat bill or going to Wal mart to by a 5,000 china made car. Trickle down doesnt work. Because of human trait called GREED. Inflation is way higher than average salary increases. The minimum wage has not changed in however many years. Companies would rather cut salaries and lay off people and keep service and quality low to keep the stock price high than actually invest in their workers. And thats the long and short of it. the bigger that big business gets, the more fucked up it is for everyone. tricke down is bullshit. Its basically "hoping" the CEO will "do the right thing" and create jobs, but the reality is these bastards look to cut and snip wherever they can to keep the stock (aka the options that they have invested into the company) looking attractive. BULLSHIT

IMO taxing big business will actually help small businesses more. Create more competition, and most likely boost the quality of product offered.

"IMO taxing big business will actually help small businesses more."

Yes but Obama is talking about taxing small business MORE. Any business under 15 mill in revenue is a SMALL business. Obamas plan will hurt small business and I dont like that.

Come on man....how many diff't ways does he have to say that he's just rolling back the tax brackets to the way they were before George Bush...no small businesses complained about shit under Bill Clinton. That's all Barack intends to do. 95% of the country (including small biznesses) where all "happy go lucky" in the 90's. We had a surplus not a deficit back then. How anybody can find anything wrong with putting things back to the way they were when a great percentage of Americans could actually make ends meet is beyond me! Not to mention anybody over 250,000 would get a hell of a cut in capital gains tax under his plan which is way more important to small businesses anyway. He actually said that he would ELIMINATE your capital gains tax. If you've ever owned a small business and actually know about "capital gains tax" you'd know how that tax alone can eat you alive! And you would only get taxed on the amount you made OVER 250k....so if you made 275k that increase to 36% would only be on 25k not the entire amount of 275K.

Lowering the taxes on the wealthy was never meant to help small biznesses under Bush anyway. He's an oil man and his new "millionaire" tax break was meant to help out himself and his fellow oil tycoons. Not to mention his VP whom benefited greatly under those tax brackets with his "defense" contracts. Anybody who thinks Bush did one GD thing to help the common man is on one....that's all I'm saying...fact is fact! McCain is worth 150 mill...go figure!

^^^ i was simply referring to your propaganda comment. Which in itself was a WEAK argument you made. I was just commenting that Indiana probably has MORE propaganda than any other state out there, maybe tied with OHIO. Thats all. I wasn't sayin you were KKK or had beliefs in line with the KKK. LOL. My bad, I apologize if it came off that way. I was merely reffering to the large amount of division and bias within the state. Callin US victims of propganda from Indiana is like a giggolo preaching abstinence.

Chris is a good dude. Having a difference in opinion doesn't make the other person the "enemy". If Democrats take that attitude we'll be no diff't than the Republicans. For the last two months that has been there battle cry.."if you're not Republican you're not Patriotic and you're not pro America", all bullshit.

Palin was also lambasted this week for failing to correctly spell out the vice president's role on several occasions, including during the vice presidential debate with her Democratic rival Joseph Biden.

Responding during one television interview to a question sent in by an elementary school pupil about what the vice-president does, Palin again overstated the White House second-in-command's powers.

"They're in charge of the United States Senate, so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes," she said.

The comment directly contradicted the separation-of-powers principle enshrined in the US constitution, under which the vice-president as president of the Senate has a casting vote in the event of a tie, but takes no other role.

McCain has staunchly defended his running mate against the slew of attacks, stressing she will be a valuable asset in his campaign goal of ridding Washington of political corruption.

But even staunch Republicans remain unconvinced.

Ken Adelman, a Republican hawk who served in top diplomatic and defense posts for presidents Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, told the New Yorker magazine that Palin's choice for vice president made him switch sides and he is now supporting Obama for president.

Former secretary of state Colin Powell, a Republican and military general who has also served as chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, on Sunday endorsed Obama and said of Palin: "I don't believe she is ready to be president of the United States, which is the job of the vice president."

And one of former president George H.W. Bush's speechwriters, Christopher Buckley, a prominent conservative, announced this month he was abandoning support for McCain for many reasons, including "the Palin nomination. What on earth can he have been thinking?"
