akai mpd32

i just got my akai mpd 32 today and i use virtual dj and i wanna use the mpd to launch my samples , effects etc. but i cant get virtual dj to recongize it ? any help please i would really appreciate it ! also it came with ableton how do i set it up in there also ? virtual dj is my top priority though. thanks

Is this your first production set up? In your case I would refer to the manuals for setting up the hardware to the software.
