OK, so at the moment I'm using Reason 3, and really fancy an MPC, but, havent enough money, and won't for a while... Sooooooo, I'm thinking of getting the MPD... How useful is this?! Obviously its not as good, but how does it compare to the MPCs?! Is there anything you are unable to do on the MPD?!

I have the MPD16 and I gotta says its very useful if you want to bang on them pads. Make sure you get an ASIO driver because latency can be very annoying with the MPD. I suggest you get the new version which is the MPD24.

to be honest i just bought one a couple weeks ago and i really wasnt too impressed with it, i hardly use it, i just use my m-audio keys

I can't live without my MPD16. You know how to map the keys and all that right?

I love my MPD16 as well. The controller, plus a good software can be just as good as an MPC.

yeah i know how to map the keys and all of that, but i think i have just become use to using my maudio keystation, which requires no mapping or anything, i guess i like taking the lazy man approach to loading samples................

great to use with rex files, i don't use mine as often as i should at the moment i'm tring to work out how to assign the control mapping etc and use slider w cubase, anyone know?

I don't know man. I had one and had nothing but problems with it. The drivers would not install properly no matter what I did. The customer support was horrible and I'm much happier with the trigger finger. It's not too much more and it just feels better. :thumb:

Needs to be linked to a computer. It is a midicontroller.
