Acapellas for remixes

Where do producers/DJs pull these acapellas from? I've been wanting to dabble in some remixing, but can never find clean pellas of songs that I want to create a remix of.

Not sure but I'm guessing they get them from someone involved in the industry. Back in the day there would be acapellas on pretty much all 12" but now I really don't know except if they're using stems from NI.

Can Stems be used in FL Studio or does it have to be a NI based product?

I'm sure you can because Stems are an "open format". I don't use FL Studio so I don't know what their import options are.

I dont think you can pull an vocals from a track with "Stems", can you?

Stems from what Ive seen is only a naming/labelling/organizing software (not to mention mastering). not unless you guys were talking about a different stem?

Appreciate the link Fade. When I Googled it, my understanding of stems was pretty much a song being tracked out, not completely, but in 4 main elements: melody, vocals, drums, and bass.

I remember seeing they have vocals as well, can't remember where. You sure you couldn't find that?

I haven't been able to take a look. I wasn't looking specifically for the acapella of the track I posted at the start of the thread, but I saw they had the stem of it on beatport. Planning on getting it sometime this weekend to see how it works.

In the mean time, I did come across this page on reddit where people request stems of songs. Reddit is a goldmine.
