Hey hows it going everyone ?
I been making beats since late 2002,
From Hip Hop Ejay - To FL 3 - To Reason - To Cubase
I pretty much got them all down.
But lately ive been craving the need to just use an ALL in one program...Reason would be the key...if it used audio(recording my racks) and FL would and still can be the key - if its audio sequencer steps its game up.
Anyway...after sampling for 2 years in FL and getting down FL5 - i got put onto abelton live..
which seemingly does everything with samples...on its own. And thats a plus for me.
And i got it to control my rack....
but thats about as far as my knowledge goes.
So here are some questions that i have...for nay of you who have switched or mastered AB LIVE...
Drum Patters - how do you make more than one ? Like i know you have the percussion instrument..but where do i goto make different change ups and drum drops and all of that..and save them as their own loops to arrange thru the song ?
Choppin Samples - Outside of usin intakt or cool edit - does AB live have a chopper..where i can load in a loop..and make it slices and re-arrange the slices ? Where ?
Recording my rack - I got the midi to control my rack..and i cna hear my rack..but how do i record it to an audio layer ?
Sequencing - There is 2 modes or views...the Horizontal one..im kinda familiar with...but where does AB live store all the current loops used for the project for me to arrange and piece together my song ?
Sequencing 2 - how does the other mode work ? i seen the video..but still not sure how that would benefit me..especially since i do alot of different drum work..
Thats probally it for now..if any of you can help explain...or SHOOT can make a VIDEO...let me know
im really eager to learn..
Thanks
