seeman, there's the difference,,,,,Premo and Pete Rock don't make music just to be on charts dog,,,they makin music to be makin music,,,feel me. Artist development is not a producers job, thats for the record labelk to take care of. We atlkin producers and music, not labels and sales.

YOU ARE ALL WRONG IT IS A PRODUCERS JOB TO DEVELOP AN ATRIST. IT IS CLEAR THAT YOU HAVE NEVER SOLD A TRACK TO A (MAJOR) RECORD LABEL. IT IS A PRODUCERS JOB IT MOLD A SONG IT TO A HIT. THIS IS WHY TIMBERLAND, DRE, QUINCY JONES AND ALL THESE OTHER BIG PRODUCERS GET THE BIG MONEY THEY GET.

PETE ROCK HAD HIS TIME IN THE LIMELIGHT...BUT ITS OVER. PETE ROCK IS DONE WASHED UP. I WAS AND STILL AS A BIG PETE ROCK FAN BUT WHAT WAS THE LAST HOT PETE ROCK JOINT YOU HERD? HIS LAST TWO ALBUMS WHEN DOUBBLE WOOD THEY WERE TRASH. HIS SOUND IS DATED AND VERY FEW PEOPLE WANNA HERE THAT STYLE OF MUSIC NOW.

It is clear to me that your opinion is based more on money. Who cares about "Big Bucks". No, I havnt sold a track to a Major Label and from your post you are makin it apparant that you have. I'm so happy,,,,with that being said, Look, just cause I havnt sold any tracks to a major label, doesnt mean I don't know how the industry works. How is a producer supposed to mold an artist when 6 times out of 10, Major Labels/ Producers buy beats from some no name dude and make a hit. The industry is fucked like that. It's the same with most of these rappers makin the so called" BIG BUCKS". Labels are always buyin written material for they're artists. Shit, this day and age, there are more ghostwriters then actual rappers,,,the same with producers. Dre is no exception. He's knows talent, and he knows how to "create" talent.(50 Cent, The Game, D12, Em) But if ya think every track he got in his catalog is his,,,then guess again.

IT IS VERRY VERRY RARE FOR AN UNKNOWEN "BEAT MAKERS" (NOT PRODUCERS) TO GET A BREAK IN THIS INDUSTRY (WE ALL KNOW THIS) AND IM NOT DISPUTING THIS ISSUE. WHAT I AM SAYING IS THAT IT IS A PRODUCERS JOB A REAL PRODUCERS JOB TO GUIDE A SESSION THROUGH. WHEN I SOLD TRACKS I WENT TO THE SESSION. I TOOK CONTROL OF THE SESSION. THIS IS MY TRACK AND I AM GONNA MAKE SHURE THAT IT (THE SONG) COMES OUT THE BEST WAY IT CAN. AND THATS THE JOB OF A PRODUCER.

AND IN MY OPINION THAT IS THE DIFFERANCE BETWEEN A BEAT MAKER AND A PRODUCER. BUT WERE GETTING OFF THE TOPIC.

I'm not talkin "Break" dog. It happens man, but I'm not talkin about Kanye, Just Blaze, etc,,,I'm sayin that cat that doesnt get no credit fo makin a track, but sells it to the label. Thats what happens alot.

But, I feel what ya sayin and the Beat Maker vs Producer,,,i agree. But like ya said,,lets not open that can of worms!

i aint seein who dre really developed... if anything he turned eminem from creative to commercial, and 50 from street to pop... if by develop you mean "commercialize" .. which i think alot of people would disagree on how good of a thing that is... i never understood how people think it was a genius move for him to snatch up eminem... em was around a long time before that, and better than he is now i think...

not that the shit matters much, dre is good, theres just much more betta

I have to agree with Stress. Dre is an excellent producer, but you can give the man props without pulling ya drawers down for him.
