Yep, they simply dont know any better, just dumb ass mass consuming majority of the people. Anyone true to the game knows a bit of everything, especialy the tracks with taste. I'm working with a talented kid and he doesn't know Company Flow, or Mr. Lif etc. Just nas, mob deep n shit. Damn shame cuz some cats got mad talent but the wrong execution of its potentials.

that is the problem, you have to dig a little deeper to find good hip hop and most people just listen to what the radio plays

early 90's hip hop was the most creative era of hip hop, the problem is that the artists did not speak out against the wackness as much as they could of the just got swept up in the rush to make money and forgot the innovative music that bought them to the forefront of hip hop music

hmmmmm..90's shit was going somewhere and it wasnt here thats fo sho.I think what ruined it was many things, back then every rap group was diverse in there own way.in the 90's diffrent was hip.Now being like the next muthafucka is whats hot!!Alot of rappers and producers dont stay true to themselves anymore. They do whatever it hot at the moment saying to themselves when i get big then ill do sumpn diffrent but once the money gets there they just keep doing whatever is hot for the time being. :(
PEACE

i agree, man the dopest beats seem like it started with slick rick - the great adventures...then few years later there was...production classics(lyrical classics 2 but htis is a production board)

black sheep - i dont even think pete rock could fukk with the horns better then dres.

pete rock held his own no doubt - only a few 2 this day matched a album beat for beat as well produced as mecca... and main ingredient
we had premo coming in lacing jeru with a classic.
the pharcyde's held more then there own on the mpc.

black moon did there thing, love them beats, loved evil dee, still havent heard nobody do basslines as well as him

havoc like evil dee came with that muddy style.

but damn...we got overated cats like kanye west not even coming close 2 puttin out the quality of yesterday(kanye not bad but still... he not coming close 2 a sex styles or a wu production unit
