Y'all must have heard about this album, I just copped a retail copy and just to give you guys a heads up 50s definitely going for a harder, agressive 'Gangster' style up on this album. Haven't heard much before Power Of The Dollar so I can't compare to the early hungry 50 but definitely seems like he's got the confidence to make the move away from the recent ultra-commercial to a darker style. The album seems much more cohesive to Get Rich or Game's Documentary, obviously he's got big name producers (Hi-Tek, Dre, Storch) but also some up and coming ones as well, I just been checking out Needlz who I'd not heard of before but produced a dope track on the album called 'Piggy Bank' another dope beat comes from Hi-Tek in the song 'Get In My Car'.

Am listening to the album as I write this and have to say I am impressed, some my say that 50 is a studio gangster, and sure a lot of the attention around him is good marketing but straight up man, this might be a real classic album, no real fillers, minimal guest appearances, saying that if you don't like the hard, gangster style you'll struggle to like this album but I don't think we've heard it like this for a while.

Listening as a beat-maker/producer myself the beats are good, but more importantly they blend well with the vocals and make good songs. The beats stand out to me because of their stunning simplicity, and the excellent production/mixing.

Serious ish man, y'all better check it out

i dled it, not as good as GRODT, too much filler.
3.5/5, nothing really stands out but i think the ladies will be sweating this album.

BTW, needlz did a good job on "piggy bank", its like a mixture of "breathe" (piano) "lean back" (string hits) and "new york" (synth bass). he did better beats for young buck tho like "let me in" and "bang bang"

yea Dres beats are weak too on this, they were too on Game and Encore, hopefully Detox aint a disapointment. Also Piggybank is fuckin weak, with all the controversy around this song i thought it would be something better its only got 1 line at each of the people he disses.

The thing about it is "Get Rich or Die Tryin" seemed like the best 50 could do because in everything after that (Hunger for More, Strait Outa Cashville, Beg For Mercy, etc.) he declined in most creative aspects and in wordplay. So I dont think that he can carry another album by his self... DEFINITELY after hearing "Candy Shop" and "How We Do".

Get Rich was a very strong first album. even though it was Dre on the production, i think 50's own style helped alot, gotta credit him for that. Many Men wasnt Dre produced and featured no one, and that was a huge hit.

anyone got any links to some of the tracks?

oh yeh heres the cover art, i think it looks quite effective.

How many of you got his Guess WHos Back Album? If you dont have it, get it. I still have respect for him because of this album. But i think the money is goin to his head. I dotn know if there willl ever be a 50 as good as he was back then.
