49 key, keyboard...

I can't get my ancient old keyboard to work worth anything, and may as well just grab a 49 key. I don't have the money for an axiam, probably could swing an oxygen but is there anything else that may work better for me? I have a trigger finger, which I realize will probably either be an extra, or just obsolete with a keyboard but we'll cross that bridge when it comes. I ordered it hoping I could use the keyboard I have now.

For ~100 bucks, what do you guys recommend, would like to keep it a 49 or larger...just don't know that a 25 would be enough, unless you guys can explain differently.

And like always, any help is appreciated.

get the m audio keyrig49 for 100

or the yamaha kx49 for 149

i read a few reviews that said the keyrig was basically the same as a keystation, but the keystation keys felt better. I went ahead and ordered it, was on ebay for 68 shipped so i felt like it was a good deal regardless if it replaced the TF or not....but I need a midi keyboard and hopefully this one will work out well. thanks for the feedback though.

my old keyboard is a 61 key but it just doesn't work with my computer and I couldnt get the drivers to work...that may be user error which i'm sure it is. So, yes I could get a 61 key but a little more room would be very useful, my laptop is on top my clothes dresser right now haha. I'm just trying to get started where I can really start trying to lay something down.
