100% BS.

Last time I gave Reason 4 a try on my computer, my hard drive failed (yea it actually failed) when I messed around on the back of the racks.

I try to install Reason today and I get that little window with the logo or w/e like before the whole setup shit comes on. I left, came back an hour later and it's still not in the setup! I just see the lil window. I try to close it, it's not closing, I went to task manager and there was 2 Reasons open for some reason. Second one ain't closing, comp starts going a lil slow for a second. I got pissed so I just held my power button down till my laptop shut off. I turn the comp back on, I get the DOS-style-font that says something like my RAM has been changed press f12 for diagnostics, press f5 to continue, I forget the rest. So im like wtf, so I let it boot and go to "my computer" and it says I only got 0.99gb of ram meanwhile I got 2gb in there. Ima run diagnostic tomorrow to see if it's just some big coincidence and ram pins are messed up or something but I highly doubt it doubt it cuz I keep this mothafucka tip top and I just now install this and it gets messed up I never run into problems wit my comp. The install had to change something. I searched all over google and didn't find nothing, everything is about people who got 32bitos and they think their ram went away cuz 4gb turned into 3 something.

Anyone ever see something like this before? if so, what you do? Reason hates me

Did you buy it or ******** it?

Limwir? na I don't use that. I use Demonoid lol.

check your memory sticks, they might be faulty or something use memtest. it's best if you make a bootable cd/dvd/flash/floppy of it and let it run the tests, that way you can rule out any physical ram issue http://www.memtest.org/

good lookin out I'ma try this tomorrow

i'm still open to any answers if anyone else got other suggestions, anyone know how to reset how the RAM gets read (software-side), so maybe it can detect the second GB?

I think somehow you either have a corrupt copy of reason. or you mistakenly started 2 setups at the same time, which has played havok with your registry.
Use the BIOS to see how much memory is being registered.
If your registry is really messed up then there could be future problems.
Here lies the problem with using pirate software. Its the risk you take.
Im sure your hard drive must have been on its way out before.
Ive never heard of a peice of software destroying a harddrive. unless that software is some sort of destructive virus, even then it cannot physically destroy the harddisk, erase and corrupt yes, but destroy, I dont think so.

yea it could very well be a coincidence, but idk the HD was like a few months old

ima try system restore if it made any restore points and see if the bios sees 2gb

system restore didn't work however

I took the ram sticks out, turned on the laptop so it knows there is no ram, then turned it off, put the ram sticks back in, turned it on so it reads the sticks, got my ram back!

Did you buy it or ******** it?

His computer is now part of a botnet spamming millions of people with misspelled Viagra solicitations.

That's probably the real reason your RAM disappears, man.
