12" question

Yo, got a question...

do labels pick up artists and put out their 12" singles? Like if an mc works with a certain producer thats part of a label, would that label put that out? or anything like this?

im not 100% up on all this but i'll try to answer, as far as i know the producers lable wouldnt put it out, not under normal circumstances anyway what typically happens is the artists lable will put the track out they simply go to different producers to get the tracks they need for the mixtape/album/single woteva !

word, the only reason i'm asking is because i'm unsigned and im working with a signed producer and i want to put out a 12" and i dont feel like paying the cash to get a bunch of 12"s pressed up...

nah i mean you may have a chance that the producer who is signed will say to the label yo you need to check this kid out and they may sign you if they liked you ! or the producer might be signed to put out an album like alchemists album with loads of guest spots and he could put the track out on that but other than that its very unlikely !

yea its pretty unlikely they would have to put you under contract of some sort to actually release your work though even if its just the once !
