    Darko Domijan - "Vrtovi Sna"

My wife never heard any of my stuff before because I used to make beats before I met her (and that PC is long gone). She listened to some of my new beats and she told me that "they need to be more dynamic, with more frequencies, and more tempo, like Tiesto, or how Timbaland uses those "weep...

    Darko Domijan - "Vrtovi Sna"

If I ever make it big time, I'll pay homage to this album cover. Not even sheepskin... full on sheep jacket and handle bar mustache. Not sure if there's anything else that screams "I do what the fuck I want" more than that.

    Sampling is fucking hard

& oh also to identify the key of a sample... if using FL Studio, right click on the audio file >> edit in pitch corrector -- it does a decent job at aligning to the piano roll, you can also export the midi, but of course takes some tinkering.

    Sampling is fucking hard

If you're using FL Studio, Wave Candy can do a pretty good job at detecting the key. I made a preset: 1) Add Wave Candy to the Master 2) Load the Key Finder preset 3) Mute all tracks except the sample 4) Play 5) Click the snowflake icon to freeze... 6) Tinker with whatever you're trying to...

Harry Potter & The ILL Beat-stealing risk

The way I look at it... it is what it is. That's why relationships are important. It's going to happen. Even if not directly, because what's that famous quote... "creativity is hiding your sources." Remember: supposedly Spielberg stole ET. Plus, we're probably sampling shit, right? I think...

    Poverty Driven (Rap Beat)

I could see the percs and higher frequencies toned down a bit to bring more focus on the melody, and having a singer/rapper combo on this. Solid beat, good work.

    Poverty Driven (Rap Beat)

Do you have any recommended videos or articles on this? Is it like using a bus channel for reverb/delay but instead a low pass or EQ bus?

    Throes of Affliction

Very well made. I really like the low piano. I think it could use a deeper bassline and a little toning down on the hi-hats (but that's personal preference). Nice work.

    Ms. French (Alternative/Hip-Hop Type Beat)

I think I could picture a rapper/singer type collabo on this type of beat, maybe with a rock/alternative singer jumping in and out or on the hook. I think it has a Gorillaz type of vibe too (unintentionally, ha). Let me know what you think!

Off Topic Should Rappers Write Their Own Lyrics?

I disagree here. Ultimately, it's about making great music and connecting with the listener. Fans come from various backgrounds and have different views of the world, so there's also benefit in gathering various perspectives and collaborating towards the best result (look at it like a business...

    20 Years Old Beat....

It's pretty solid and well made. Some of the sounds sound a bit cheap/standard/flat, but nothing that can't be fixed with a fresh remix. Interesting to see how much has changed over the years too, particularly when it comes to drum patters and lows.
