    If the snare is not cutting through the mix, you have overlapping frequencies. Try using a different kick or switching up the bass. Don't be afraid to use compression to glue your mix together.

    It's not the plugin that makes the difference, it's the microphone you use and audio interface you have the mic plugged into. Cheapter interface = cheaper sounding mic.

You had the better melody/concept but the kick and snare wasn't hitting for the type of vibe you where going for. @guitardep congrats...beat was way too mellow for a battle (in my opinion).
