your method/routine for producing???
if startin from scratch i try to come up wit a good chord progression, den da beat, den start addin melodies n otha sounds. if ive got a nice sample , i first start with da drums, den i find a way of puttin da sample in there, den i drop da bassline, n den i add other synths if necessary- afriquedeluxe

how long do you normally spend on a track
da longest i spent on a beat was like 2weeks, i think. usually nowdays i can make a beat in 2days on average. i dont make beats everyday tho cuz i got aload of skool work but yeh i guess id say in 2days i cud make a good beat. in 15mins, if i tried id proly make sumtin dats cliche, music wise.- afriquedeluxe

samplin is good and i do it sometimes but wat usualy stops me is i tend 2 hav less control over chord/melody variations. so most of da times i gota start from scratch, n like truth said at times it can take really long to come up with sumthin dope so it mite seem like am at a producer block or...- afriquedeluxe
