    Check out this bass thing

One of my bass player buddies publicly challenged me to do a bass cover of a King's X song. So I did. I don't do a ton with my YouTube but check it out.

Tutorials How to Make Beats - Part 7: Creating a Bassline

Always, always, always tune your kick to the key of the song. Drives me nuts to hear an out of key kit. but I hear it all the time. It’s a rookie mistake.

What the hell happened to Rap music?

This is a reflection of society. It needs to be dumbed down for the common denominator. Happens in all genres, and it’s sad.

What the hell happened to Rap music?

I just have to say here is Jean Grae with the roots. I fell in love with her after seeing this performance. Also Eternia is fire. Check her out. (not so top secret but she is on the next Drunk Pedestrians record...she crushed it! )

What the hell happened to Rap music?

OMG Key and Peele just did a video today on this topic. We need this now!! They get it! @OGBama But why Cardi, there are SOOO many good female emcees. Jean Grae and Eternia are two examples that come to mind. Cardi is just...not very good.

What the hell happened to Rap music?

This is why Kendrick is so important, one of the few young rappers in the game growing the art of hip hop. Rap and country are in the same boat these days, it’s just commercialized bullshit that doesn’t mean anything when they both came from such rich and honest origins. It’s a shame.

Im going all in on Elektron

Digitakt is a crazy machine, its simple to get going and surprisingly deep. Its just a wild thing. Elektron gear just has soul, something Akai hasn't had in years. I would argue the MPC2kxl was the last MPC with soul, although the 2500 is probably better overall once you replace the garbage...

Im going all in on Elektron

Yes, I would just grab a used one. Their stuff seems to hold up pretty well. Once you click with how they work there is nothing else like them.

Im going all in on Elektron

Elektron is on their own. Akai, Numark, Alesus, M-audio, Denon, Stanton, Gibson are all owned by inMusic I have literally heard Akai executives refer to their customers as "Dumbass beat makers" Also I just found out that they refused to pay Roger Linn his royalties. I do have an MPC One but I...

Im going all in on Elektron

Because AKAI still sucks. My Digitakt is pretty wild so I have an Octatrack and a Rytm on the way. They seem to be doing the most innovative stuff in the sampler sequencer space. Did I mention Akai is a garbage company. Anyway, I will have some learning to do in the next few weeks. Fun times!

I had a crazy playing live experience this weekend.

There is a fair amount of hip hop heads but yea it’s not like a thriving scene or anything. Sadly.
