    Yeah, the arranging was a completely welcome surprise for me. I think it was my recording/arranging program of choice until I got a hold of a cracked version of Adobe Audition.

    I know this post is stale but I'll poke it a bit. My first beat-making stuff was Acid 2.0 as well. They had a "Hip-Hop" pack that came with a bunch of pre-programmed drums, horns, strings, basses and stuff that were all really close to the same BPM so you could just kind of drag and click them...

    The "art as work" observation hit me. I feel the same. Sometimes i find myself running around doing all this decorative work just to get emcees on my beats - i hate it. I just want to make beats. I hate the social media, the games, tactics and techniques.

    I've seen a few of these. I assumed these dudes were making pretty simplistic beats ahead of time, then recreating them from memory as fast as they can for the shock effect/viewability of it.
