I'm sitting on about 2000 records in Brooklyn. Need to sort through them, put them back in the right cases.
Thinking of sorting chronolgicaly this time, normally I sort by genre.
Problem is if I need to DJ, picking out records would be kind of difficult if they're sorted by year.

werd the fuck up...
funny, looking back at that old thread, I never used to write shit, I had a phobia of posting while high (which was pretty much all the time). Now I'm on a hiatus from bud smoking, and I think I posted 300 times in the last three months. Now if I can just find that happy...

IMO, one of the things you don't hear enough today is mistakes. Every note autotuned and quantized, it's makes music sound fake and plastic.
Sometimes an artist will play one bad note, or come in on the chorus too early. I watch this show on VH1 called Classic Albums, they talk about how some...

He's a good example of how the word "producer" means different things to different people, interesting read....
What up fam.
Wondering how people deal with the following scenario:
Basically, we all have responsibilities to our family/work/school/etc.
Outside of that, you get to put in some time on music.
Now, we all realize the quest is the reward, you're always learning, you can always improve...

Good shit. Gonna miss the stadium though. First time I ever smelled weed was some dude at Yankee Stadium smoking it in the seats in front of me back in 1980....
Weed aside...
Of all the artists/musicians/creative people you've met in your life, what are some words of wisdom you've been told regarding playing/recording/composing music?
For me, two of the wisest words I was ever told was:
"be original"
I think a lot of people are trying to sound exactly like...
The Herbie Fairlight video had me going to five more links, ended up watching Grandmixer DST cut it up with Herbie live. Doubles, cutting without skipping the record, all of this 23 years ago...

The thing that trips me out is that when they were putting out records on Epic, they ended up 1.4 million dollars in debt to the label.
That means all those...
What up Illfam,
I spend some time over at Craig Anderton's audio engineering forum on Harmony Central.

This track called "Planet Rock Pt 1" has some of the biggest drums I've heard in a minute. I bought the 12" single earlier today. The MP3 isn't as thick, but it's still pretty damn dope IMO. Jazz version is impressive too:
