    You cop em indeed but there could be lots of ways to get them, I assume if you pay for use of the sample you could ask the label for the recording data and use the vocaltracks. Maybe they're just lucky getting the right material, usable clean vocals in accapella parts of a track etc.

    hehe, cut groups are nice but I only tend to use them on drums ( hats open/closed and percussion )because there's also limitations to using cut groups ( in most cases most of time, cut itself wont work when assigning to cutgroups ).

    deamon tools is a freeware proggie that can mount an iso file as if it was any kind of drive, so you make a copy of an original sample cd ( an ISO file ) and load that into a virtual drive. A real scsi setup is better though imo simply because that aint virtual.

    Get with scsi for the mpc, fantom via usb and hook up to the same map. Im not sure but Deamon Tools might be able to create virtual scsi drives so you can use akai sample disc iso's.

    make a midi track, left of the track it says mid out, select your sound card there. RTFM on your hardware and start assigning them midi channels, you set midi track to chnl. 1 then anything set to chnl.1 in the midichain ( your hardware responding to the midi out from your soundcard ).

    Were going through a whole bunch of gear at the studio, we have the avalons, focusrites, audient and a bunch of mics too just to see what's nice or not. Funny stuff, like we returned the u78 because it didnt sound better than the AKG Solitube we use on the daily. Im not on this cuz I give fuck...
