    is there any REAL advantage to switching to pro tools if you already have a good recording/midi application? basically all i am getting now to complete my setup is that new emu farm card system, i guess it has the same converters as the pro tools a/d system... i figure if you can just get better...

    yeah, it needs fantom power... but thats why i got the pre amp, which has 48v of fantom power across both channels. i am just going to get another cable today after work, and hopefully that will do it. if not, i will be back here again tomorrow.

    o, i just got my mic and a tube pre amp for it. the cable i got has the xlr female on one end and a 1/4 inch pn the other. the guide for the pre amp says that the xlr input is for condensor mics, but i didnt have an xlr input for it, and so i obught an adapter. i plugged it in and... nothing...

    yeah, i actually got a pair of AKG K141M Dynamic Supra Aural AKG K240DF Professional Studio Monitoring Headphones, and i re-did a mix of a recent beat and there was a very noticeable difference. the mix itself has much more of a punch to it. not a bad buy for $80.

    well, the few drums they give you are nice, becasue of the 4 way velocity switch. the hip hop kits arentthe best but they are solid. i always like to layer the acoustic kits with the hip hop kits i have anyways.... and with the effects section being what it is, i will have a decent drum...
