    2ct converting wave files to 950 format isnt always a plausible or desired move if and when the content was not recorded on the 950 itself. In most cases you're converting from 16 to 12 bit when importing which wont sound as good when doing none conversion editing.

    ....line6 has dope 2 or 1 channel guitar/line pres with asio support and some good sounding cab modelers for el cheapo, dont think theyre firewire but if hes only recording a mono track at a time then theres no need for massive datastream support, he'll be just fine.
