Everything here is true.
I saw Lootpack a long time back and they showed up I think 4 hours late or some shit, and started at like midnight or 1:00 am..
dope post!
No backup dancers / side kicks
I could go on, but you know what I'm talking about! So what do you miss most about hip-hop besides the MC's and Producers?
Update: Just got home from picking up a record I had never heard of before. It's a 7 track EP by the Polyrhythm Addicts called "Rhyme Related". The group consists of Spinna, Mr Complex, Shabaam Sahdeeq and Apani B. A really dope little record with some smooth beats. Highly recommended!
(not on...
Another 90's producer that not many people know about. He did a lot of productions and remixes in the early and mid 90's, mostly indy stuff, but also some well known names.
Everyone owes it to themselves to check this dude out if you haven't!
Man, speaking of under-rated producers, Spinna almost never gets mentioned anywhere. I picked up an EP by him yesterday from 96' called Compositions and an indie group record I.G. Off & Hazadous (Prod by Spinna), the dude is a beast!
Hip-hop has changed, the industry has greatly changed. As quoted by Large Pro from an old Vice magazine I have:
"I think the impact of that Main Source album was so great because I was not in any way tainted by the industry"
Then his solo LP was shelved and so was his hip-hop career...
I listen to certain artists like Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin and some guys like Charles Trees... but electronic music is vast, so there's a lot of don't like also. I'm willing to give it a shot though!
