    How long does it take you to finish a beat

    it usually takes me a couple days (spread out). i'll spend an hour or two messing with the beginning and then i'll burn a copy of it and listen to it into my car nonstop...then i'll go back and flesh out/add/revise things. sometimes i dont take that step and my beats just sort of stay there...

    i think there are a few cats on this site that know exact compression ratio's to throw on your vocals and all that... but i do think you should record vocals with a flat e.q. and then e.q. it whithin your recoding program. its all about what you want to accentuate in the individual's voice...
