20% is about right for an artist that isn't established...but definitely have someone look over the contract..... As what DP said....protect yourself....don't set yourself up... If you do well and start making some $$$, then you can renegotiate the percentage to something lower than 20% when... -

Question about mixing
Getting the instrumental mastered prior to recording in my opinion is counter-productive...because with the vocals, you gotta re-mix it. I understand a good mix in terms of levels so the artist can really vibe to the beat and have an idea of how it may sound... I don't see the point in... -
