What effects do you use to alter your sounds?

That's pretty much a little tip, probably most of you know it, but when you hold SHIFT while playing with knobs it's more precise. Instead of going from 4 to 6, you can go from 4 to 5. -

Making beats in different time signatures !
I HATE 3/4, i had a great sample with 3/4 and it just doesn't feel right making a song that way. Cuz emcee use 16 bars for verse and 4 bar twice for chorus so it doesn't fit perfectly. -
How come I have NO midi delay with Reason, but have one major delay with Cubase/VSTs?
When I use my midi keyboard with Reason it's perfect, there's no delay at all (using a m-audio), but with the VSTs it ridiculous the delay, like 1 sec and a half! How come? -
Digging: Crap/Jewel ratio.....
I don't have a turntable, so i'm a virtual digger, and my ratio is like 1:35 or something. The 35 ain't all crap, but sometime it has no break, the beat is tight but there singings on hit and that make it unsamplelable lol, i'm not talking about singing a la "thru the wire" were it was very good...
