Compression In Adobe/Cool EDit

Is there any straight foward effect to open a compressor setting in cool edit cuz i cant seem to find one, i think maybe it is under another name/process like gating to gate in cool edit you have to go through dynamics procesing etc... any help appreciated thanks

yea most beats released on tracks commercially have loud snmares quite suprising if u actually listen they are usually the loudest samples in the sequence... just what i have found anyway
