You could be a drum player, but not a producer.
Oh and if y'all think Collipark is tonedeaf, check out the Girls (Southside remix I think) from his album "Dead Crunk" when he went by DJ Smurf.
I've never sold a beat. I don't think I would sell one for less than $1000. If I'm promoting you and backing you as an artist I will do it for free, but if it's mercenary work, I'm getting paid my worth and BELIEVE I'm keeping the publishing. :)
Has anyone had any experience sampling an 808 into a PC? I was trying to do this the other day, and there was a humming sound in the background. I'm looking for a way to remove the hum. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Fruity Loops has an easier drum sequencing interface but weak stock drum sounds and it's very difficult to make good sounding keyboards. It can be done though. My boy goes dumb with FL Studio, but he uses mostly his own samples. I prefer Reason.
Using Propellerheads Rebirth with Reason can help. It has a unique way of chopping up and playing the sample back at a lower BPM but keeping the same pitch, without too much quality loss (depending on the sample).
