Will the akai series survive?
The Ren being a software MPC is cool, but Maschine hass soo much more flexibility. IMO 10 years ago instead of developing the 1000 and 500 Akai should have gotten into software when "Fruity Loops" and Reason were growing in popularity, and beat NI to the punch. To late now lol... -

Who is a minimalist?
while i was hardware for 6 years of beat making. mpc1k and motif rack. I actually have more ways to make a beat now since Im all software. Like the overkill thread i started, never had that issue while on hardware. I used to make the beat then record it in $99 cubase se, done...- Ozmosis

Is it overkill?
Fade you and Formant024 ever hear of a program called recycle? (being sarcastic) LOL.... It slows me down a little but It really depends on the type of beat i make. A composed track ill stay in Logic from start to finish. Sampled track all 3 DAWs are used, and all 3 DAWs give a diff sound... -

Creating a remix with an acapella over a beat
Another tip is make sure the beat fits the song, and im not talking about tempo or BPM. Ive heard some nice beats but it didnt go right with the songs vibe or mood. You have to feel for do I keep it simple or twist the whole remix up.
