i think at the price range you're looking for, getting a preamp would probably enhance your sound. i got myself a presonus tubepre on ebay for $50. made my crappy $50 mxl 990 sound like a different mic. i've used many pro mics since i go to school for recording, but i gotta say, a cheap mic... -

if you're using the motif as a midi controller for reason 4, then yes. if you're using the motif for sounds and you want to implement them into reason, then no. -

i compose most of the time, so it takes me about 45-60 minutes to make a basic skeleton. time consuming, man. -
