    keep in mind that's hardware, dedicated hardware at that which is why the sounds load instantly. the soundsets are heavily compressed, like 256-512 MB for everything...a simple piano patch in some VSTs are bigger than that alone... i think one of the closer VSTs on the market to what you get...

    yep, I dumped my mpd16 and bought the axiom 25 last summer. shortly afterwards, they announce the 24 and i was pissed...the 24 looks like a winner, if it sucks just return it.

    with the motif es rack (dunno about the original motif) you contol it using USB midi. it gets set to port 0. you then open a midi channel, select 0 and whatever midi channel and ur set. you can quantize and everything...

    oh yeah, I played the motif XS today at the guitar center. The new screen/GUI layout is real nice, the sounds are pretty much the same as the ES; a few new ones, and the older ones sound a lil bolder to my ears...overall, i don't see it as being worth upgrading over the ES if you are a current...

    the neko is best suited for people that are going to tour/move around a lot. otherwise if youre doing bedroom beatmaking, you can pretty much get a neko just by buying a fast spec PC, firebox interface, midikeyboard, emulator x, sampletank and or Kontakt and some synth VSTs...a bunch of em are...

    I think its pretty much in the bag that yamaha releases a rack, but it could take well over a year cuz that was the amount of time it took for them to announce the ES rack after the workstation dropped.

    I saw Tim using Native Instruments Intakt (Now discontinued) within Cubase in some vid. Must be what he uses to flip samples with. Danja uses the 4000, triton, motif, andromeda, and a bunch of VSTs within cubase as well.

    i heard that thing is gonna start in the mid $2000 range, i hope the module version will be much cheaper than that because i dont need the keys. kinda funny Roland didnt announce anything that would really compete with this and the Motif XS.
