    Really like this! Very smooth, all fits well in the mix. Maybe i'd also place a hi-hat on the forth to glue the drums together (for more continuation). I Know it's Lo-Fi genre, but have you tried putting in some high frequency texture? Some chimes or something like that would really finish it...

    Watch and listen how other people would do it, and try things out for yourself. There are a lot of tutorials about it on YT. Recreating only the drums from one of your favorite beats can be a good starting point to understand the rhythms in hip hop. I would recommend not to worry too much about...

    So in that case, the 'no vocal allowed' should be redefined. I mean, this rule is exact the same thing as saying you can't use 808's. Half of my library exists of beats with "vocals" because it's in the sample I chopped. I think everyone knows what an "instrumental without a hook" means.
