Be careful with Behringer mixers
I've had a few Behringer mixers. A big Eurodesk Pro 32 channel, and a couple Xenyx. I got rid of one, but I still have the Xenyx 2222FX that I've had for well over 15 years... used to use it in my live show rig, but now use it for production. I love that thing, and never had any issues at all... -

I'm not really hearing that on Notorious Thugs. But, Bone did use a sample of this song on "Don't Stop" on the Thug Stories album. It's a pretty dope track, one of the best on there actually, after the Staple Singers sample. -

It's 2019 - who's still using MIDI?

Good free software for beginners ?
The trial version of FL should be sufficient. Learn it. The full version will do basically everything you'll ever want it to do, and you can customize it to your work flow. It's very versatile, and my favorite beatsmithing DAW. I think Arvin might have a solution for you.
