    To me, it sounds like distorted + hyper-compressed to prevent from raping your ears. I'm confident you can achieve this by tweaking Decapitator from Soundtoys... I would guess Adele probably distorted an expensive vintage tube mic from the very beginning of the signal chain...

    I have Arturias, keystep and beatstep I think they're called. Nothing wrong for that kind of money. I am not a keyboard player so the "feel" is not an issue for me. idk... It might be for piano players.

    I understand, I also cannot properly treat my room(s)... That's why I went for a reflexion filter (Aston Halo Shadow) which helps a lot. About the mic, I haven't used the NT-1, but from what I heard, it's a solid choice.

    +1 on the SM7B. Especially if you're working in a room with no or little accoustic treatment... With the extra money, you may want to consider all the accessories (antipop filter, mic stand, cable, reflexion filter). The quality of these accessories will improve the overall sound way more than...

    @2GooD Productions and @skidflow , I will check these out. I've heard of Mel Brooks but probably never watched any of his stuff... He's not too popular in France I think, dunno why... Maybe the translation was made by butchers. Lots of great movies are ruined by this.
