yea as dream police said the mbox is just a piece of hardware, obviously u cant upgrade that without just buying an mbox 2, but the software you can download the software from the digidesign site, you can constantly do that with each new version they bring out ! -

yes and no, you should produce with your ears not your mind, so its never about being anal or technical its about what sounds good, whether thats juts looping or chopping, the record buying public don't give a fuck how much time you spent timestretching and chopping a sample all they wanna know... -

when u start to make a beat do u start with the verse part or with the chorus part?
i normally aim to make the core of the beat so that would be the verse, but then i usuall layer all my stuff on top of that that i think i might add in at various points so it becomes a big mash of sounds then ill mute and solo stuff once ive got everything tracked out in PT ! -

o rite ok sorry, right once you've got the midi notes recorded onto a midi track you can of course play them back thru any sound source that can be triggered by midi, midi is just note data and so it doesnt matter what plays them back all you have to do is have your midi channel with you midi... -

put a tape in a press record ! lol nah like has been said above they don't tend to mean casette tapes, there are other more professional tape formats but these require special machinary and cost a hell of a lot ! -
Waves Plugins can't **** with VOXENGO Plugins
never tried voxengos but ill keep an eye out for them, i find im using a lot of sony oxford plug-ins at the mo they are always good ! -

lol kewl glad you got it working im not an expert on linking reason on pro tools and reason i did it once but thats its, i think the only way you can link the two is with reasons re-wire function you have to open up pro tools then open up reason in re-wire slave mode, im not sure exactly but if... -

i've never used sonar so im not guna comment on that, i use pro tools (m-powered, le , and HD) all the time and thats what im used to if its just for your home studio and your used to sonar id stick with that if u want to go onto professional studios use pro tools bcoz learning now will save... -

ah rite i see, well yea on the older pro tools, you have to have the midi channel and then rotue the audio to an aux channel, to that just send the out of the midi to say bus 1-2 and then set bus 1-2 as the input on the aux channel, you can't record the audio like this as aux input channels... -

ermmm i mean it shuld b pretty straight forward, obviously connect your midi keyboard out to the digi 002 in, what you might have to do is go in to AMS which is the mac audio/midi setup menu its under utilities if i remember right and you sometimes have make the virtual connections in there to... -
