    I'm actually using a hp centrino duo laptop. its pretty sweet, pro tools 7 m-powered runs fine on it, or until now. It gets slow though when you add a huge plugin like reason or something. I wish I had a mac just for the sake of beats.

I'm sure the quality could be improved by purchasing more expensive speakers, but the reference signal should be the same, and a decent mix should be possible.     with the rokit 5s, i hear the bass end is completely missing, which is a necessity for hip hop. soo I'm guessing that everyone's got a sub tacked on to the setup too. but the sub runs 250$ soo the overall total would come to 500$ which is completely out of the price range! how do you guys do...

    you really think "soundcards" would work? If I paid for a product upfront, I'd expect to have a physical CD you know? so i could bang it on the drive home. I think it'd be a turnoff for buyers and less sales.

    hah. hey I've been working w reason for a few months and i've just been using this shitty default rack that I put together when I first got the program. All it includes is a mastering suite (hip hop mastering default), a default mixer, and redrum. What do you guys have/recommend adding to mine?
