Voting

If you are competing, you will be able to vote but not for yourself. DO NOT TRY TO CHEAT! I will be watching for cheaters. This means you cannot sign up under different names or get your friends and family to sign up either. If you are caught cheating you could be banned.

Voting Criteria

You can use whatever sounds you want, samples, synths, just remember to read the rules for the rest of the restrictions. What the judges will be looking for is originality, creativity, mixing skills and overall dopeness!

Beats

All the beats will now be displayed in a random order and without any names. All you will see is: Beat #001, Beat #002, etc. This is so that there is no favoritism when voting.

Rules

If you're not sure about the rules, read this thread.

If you have any comments, suggestions, or questions about the competition, please post them in here.

Judging is tough. Some beats are dope, some beats are more to the theme though.
I find it always helps when I go through it by this...

- does it fit the theme?
- is it dope?
- is the mix good enough?
- did it take more work/effort?
- is the mix really good?
- is it dope?

i practically eliminate any in my voting that don't fit the theme or the mix / production is too too poor,
now they're out the way, it's just whatever one hits dopest to me
I then go how well they fit the theme, and what took more effort
I then go to just how good the mix is
and round it off if still stuck by which one am I just feeling more.

Def have to fit the theme otherwise those themes would be useless !

Also I think themes brings up more the skillsets behind a beatmaker than always the same over and over. If that makes sense.

This is what I loved about the themes... it really showed you who got some skills, when the dope producers could still bring heat, and the other big names would either drop some doo-doo or just not take part.

Always got mad respect for people who enter the more difficult themes, especially those who aren't as skilled - really key to growth. Bold and not afraid too.

Shout out to everyone who entered, quality beats in there...

I voted for @K-waz the drums/rhythm was interesting to me, close up was @TWU - I'm curious TWU, what compression did you use on your master or drum bus?

Everyone in the top 5 was also a genuine consideration of mine.

@Earsblower great compositional work
@Leopard Cohen truly fucking interesting work, truly sophisticated artistic stuff, i think you only ever miss out on Ws due to the highbrow nature of your stuff
@oninkaf as always with a dope vibe and character

Shout out to @CalvinCoolidge and @Phynal for jumping in on their first battle, and @Barium too for his third. Great entries too.

@loneone good work, brother
