I’m Uncle Phil The Real, a rapper and producer based in Seattle, Washington. My love for music started with my sister—she was incredibly talented, but when I was 10, she passed away at just 13. Losing her made me realize how powerful music can be, and I’ve been chasing that passion ever since.
At 16, I was selling out shows every Saturday in Anchorage, Alaska, and recorded over 200 songs with my group 574 Entertainment. When I was 19, I moved to Seattle to get sober, but instead, I fell into addiction and ended up homeless for six years. Every few months, I’d break down, I was wasting my talent. Without a phone, I never stopped writing—I’d fill notebooks walking the streets, holding onto the one I was meant to do.
I got in trouble, heard about drug court and took the opportunity. When I got out of jail, I had the keys to my own apartment, and from there, everything changed. I started releasing music, but without a budget, I knew I needed to take control. About three months ago, I taught myself to produce, and now I’m making 2-4 beats a day, leveling up my sound and preparing to launch my monthly beat membership program.
At this point, I’m my favorite producer to work with. Every song is another step toward the future I know I’m building. My journey hasn’t been easy, but every struggle has only sharpened my craft—and I’m just getting started.
