Love that you're bring that Francophone rap to us! Do you remember 'French Kiss' way back in the day on Much Music/Musique Plus? Give me 4 more of these 12 minute Franco mixes and I have the ultimate gym playlist! It's weird, but the abrupt changes flow really well. I think it's because you did a great job of matching the beat/change-up perfectly with each rapper. Toi, to est fou pour ca!

@Memento Beats mentioned last week that I don't regularly post in the Showcase. So...I figured I'd embarass myself a little bit. I made this a couple years ago when I was exploring the world of house/nu-disco. The funny part is, I wasn't drinking at the time but still made the weirdest music in my catalog. Either way, hope someone gets a good laugh out of it. Apologies in advance for the mix...I was maybe a bit too experimental back then lol.

Yes, I was born in Scandinavia, but my dad is from Marseille. I grew up speaking French, Swedish, and English.

Haha, well, it took me about 7–8 years to fully understand what French Quebecers are saying. Their dialects can be pretty wild at times.

@DJ Excellence Polished Diamond isn't composed, but it did inspire me to compose the track I posted today.
On your track, personally I would brighten it up a bit in the high mids and top, seems to be more bass heavy, the balance would benefit from brightening up the high end IMO. Once again, like I said before, I think you have found your own style and its fucking dope. The switch ups are smooth as fuck. My only criticism is the balance of the mix, the current balance makes it sound a little muddy. I think the snare could hit a bit harder too, with some side chained compression between the kick and bass will help the kick cut through a little more too. Fucking dope man, I like it a lot, just wish I knew what they were saying, should have paid more attention in French class.
@JM. The mix is really nice man, like I said, I wouldn't change anything about it.

Aside from that I would put it in some video game. For example it would be great for some customization section or something like that. Like in Tekken when you can customize the appearance of your favourite character etc.I love that piano melody and those synths/pads on which you based the whole track. So smooth and good sounding. The worst part about it is non-existent low end in my opinion.
Which is a key in such songs. But other than that I like it a lot! Great job.Also on another note - I think this is the first beat ever that I've heard from you.

This is good! Sounds like there's a bit more swing in the drums than usual. I gotta figure out how to get my snares to crack like that. I like that tambourine rattle as an accent. The first, shorter one sounds a bit proud in the mix compared to the second though. Instrumentation and sound selection is good too. All sounds compliment each other nicely. Another great example of paying attention to details. The staccato strings are tucked neatly in the back, but still add to the beat. This is dope.

I don't post in the Showcase much these days. I am a very slow writer and make only 1 beat a week. Maybe 2. I've been focusing more on the battles so that 1 beat a week gets used there.

You are definitely paying attention to the details regarding the tambourines. The staccato strings are actually sustained strings with Duck making it 8th notes. I put them right back because any louder and they were a bit too prominent
