@Tomblr

This a nice, chill beat. I really like the vocal chops. Flow from phrase to the next is good too. The choppy feel gives it that genuine boom bap feel.

@2GooD Productions

Growing up on dub/reggae, this one caught my attention right away. The drum intro and horns are great. I think with genre-type flips/samples, it can either; lose the soul of the sample or 2) too far one at or the other. This balances both well. Good groove, and mix is nice.

Heres another one I knocked together today. At this rate I might have a full instrumental album by the end of the month.

You've went from 0 to 100 :ROFLMAO:

Will check all of these out later and leave feedback. Nice to see a hive of activity in the Showcase. Special shout to @BiggChev for the in-depth and constructive feedback, as ever.

Still getting the usual spammers though.

Where you been? I could be tripping, but I feel like I haven’t seen you around. Listened to last couple beats you posted…still coming with fire!
You're not tripping. I mean you might be, but I haven't been around as much. Totally burnt myself out - life things mainly but my music/creativity definitely suffered because of it.

I took time to sift through my catalogue of beats and creations over the last few months. I've made over 200+ beats since Christmas and interestingly entered 0 battles along the way. Lucky if anyone has heard a handful of them. @2GooD Productions had mentioned in another thread about "striving to make that perfect beat". I've been caught in that cycle, not just lately but like since day 1 of making beats and probably still am. So a good nearly 2 decades worth of not quite being happy with any finished creation! There will be loads of folks like me who seek that perfection, delete beats, never go back to them...I need to start just putting stuff out there.

I've taken a bit of time to learn some more things, a bit more theory, strip back my music outlook, look at my workflow with fresh eyes and to really hone my own distinct sound. The hardest thing is not to be distracted by others musical endeavors.

FFS....Chev only said he hadn't seen me around :ROFLMAO:

Sounds like you had a lot going on. Firstly, I hope you've got that sorted and that you're taking care of yourself. Burn out is real and it isn't until you hit the pause button do you realize you've been running on fumes for a good while.

Good on you for taking the time to invest in some education. I find that's a big part of a well rounded lifestyle and outlook. Whether it's learning more about your hobby, profession, or general interests, it's good to stay learning. In fact I'm starting a new professional designation course next month, hoping I can balance a full time job, gym, and music along with it.

In terms of being a perfectionist, I've always been quite the opposite with respect to music. Again, my corporate life meant very little, and inconsistent, time for music. If I managed to get some semblance of a verse + chorus done, that would be a wrap. I never gave much attention to my mixes, or the fine details.

Like you, I'm trying to commit more to music - albeit as my hobby - and really appreciate the craftsmanship and details.

Looking forward to hearing more music from you and hearing how the journey is going!

Take a listen to my new one

Because you gave feedback, i'm gonna do the same for you
It's cool how you changed that style up like further down the line

If i would say one 'negative' point about it, is to try add a bit of reverb on that snare (not extremely much)
I love the Horns in it man

Good job
