so basically its southern tribe called quest?Phonk (/fɒŋk/) is a subgenre of hip hop and trap music directly inspired by 1990s Memphis rap.[1] Mostly present on the SoundCloud platform, the music is characterized by nostalgic funk samples, often accompanied by vocals from old Memphis rap tapes. The genre typically takes samples from early-1990s hip hop, combining them with sounds from jazz,[2] and deploys distorting techniques such as chopped and screwed to create a darker sound.
In theory it kinda sounds nice, tbh.

for somebody with a lot to say, where is it?That's @2GooD Productions a dope way to put it and being Southern we always will have and "got sum'n to say."
The south has been talking for years, now its your turn.
do what you have to do, just make it happen
Jazz and funk to me are integral to hip hop from the start and other genres too, without them hip hop wouldnt exist IMO.
From James Brown and Parliament Funkadelic to Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong, integral to hip hop from day 1.
I thought all trap producers were simple idiots. What happened?
Sounds a bit like black eyed peas on trapPhonk beats are some of the dopest around… just sayin
