I can't afford healthcare, either...It's freaking expensive and you'd still have to pay when you get to the Dr's.

this sounds so unbelievable. over here you pay 15% of your income every month and you're covered (you pay the insurance company another 10 bucks for visiting the doctor the first time in a quarter). if you don't have a job, the state pays for you, health insurance is mandatory. students pay about 70 dollars monthly.
health care cannot be a privilege, you need to rethink your system. other (non-socialist) countries have made these decisions a hundred years ago.

I hear ya.... but it's either buy food or pay for insurance.... That's how it's gotten with my current employment status.......Now when I get a higher paying job, then I'll consider it....I will always still pay for insurance if I could, this way I won't have to worry about waiting just to see a physician...

Giving a woman the right to choose does not fit the socialist mold, giving the poor a fair chance at descent health care does not as well. Denying a people RIGHTS is the epitome of being a socialist. U can't vote, you can't serve in the military if you're openly gay, u can't have an abortion no matter the circumstance etc etc.

Giving people a CHOICE is a democracy and providing a way for the less fortunate is also!

Good points. I always find it funny that conservatives are the ones always screaming about freedom when they are the ones who are always trying to infringe on the rights of those outside of their group.

If you ask your insurance agent they will go through the details of the plan face to face with you. America hates paying because America is UNHEALTHY. You don't get covered if you smoke, drink, and are overweight......there goes half of us if not more right there. My mom and aunt are agents and will lose their way of life if this garbage goes through. America wants simplicity, and free shit. Sadly noone understands free health care isn't simple....and it's not as half as good as what your paying for. A LOT of stuff is NOT covered, heart transplants, by pass surgeries, and if your over the age of 55 GOOD LUCK!!!

The irony is spilling out of this president. Raise job security, take away insurance and let the agents and companies die out and lose their way of life. No reason to sell a product if it's the ONLY one you can get. The hospitals can just give you another form to fill out and sign up.

Obama has said over and over and over and over again that people will have a choice to stay with their current health care plans. The 'it will kill old people' shit is laughable and you should be ashamed of yourself either for buying into, or for trying to spread the misinformation if you in fact know better. The private insurers will only die out if reform passes and they refuse to change and continue charging people insane amounts and then in many cases cutting people who have paid those crazy amounts off when they actually need the insurance.

This part I have no sympathy for, because companies and agents havent given a damn about people ...EVER... You dont have to be overweight or smoke to get rejected or not have sufficient coverage.
