I was messin around today mixin one of my joints. Older heads and other people might already know this but I was excited when I stumbled on it Today. I added a Phaser effect to my final mix. I made the phase speed slow, with no low cut att all. Then lowered the phaser effect on my mixer to about 9:00. This gave me a SWEET BASS BOOST that I've not heard with other effects. It sounds really organic, i used it with a natural fingered bass soundfont so the bass wass really warm. Try it out if you haven't, you might dig it.

Peace,

Might work better if you just add it to your bass channel (only).

Sidenote:

Waves Rbass - is great for this application along with a multiband compressor..adjusting low end.

Yeah i'd co-sign putting the phaser on the Bass channel only. If you do it to your whole mix then you lose consistency all around. Might get uncontrollably messy. Could be a good idea to put the phaser on a send and then but your bass through that and a small percentage of everything else into it as well. Whatever sounds good in the end though, just dont fuck up a good mix!!

lol, nice tip though. I use the wah effect on my basses as well as a vocoder sometimes.

Peace
