Where Do you all get your Samples and some questions about different software

Where do you find the best hip hop samples. I usually get some cd's off ebay and I also go to Sam Ash but sam ash sucks and Im in a dire need Of some strings and piano samples to use to create the melody of a track. I have a grip of drum loops bass basslines but when Im going to make a melody I get real frustrated In my search for quality samples... I have a keyboard thats hooked up through the midi but the keyboard really isnt that great and Im about to go get an external sound card... Well any advice would be GREATLY appreciated this shit is getting so damn frustrating.

Also I use acid but I also have cubase and Reason just not installed. I have Magix music director and magix audio studio.


My problem Is.. My homies are asking me to make them tracks for thier crew and I want to make the switch to the better programs but I donthave the time it takes to learn these programs. So I find myself being lazy and sticking to what I know...

But I need to make the switch because I want to bring up the quality of the sound and also my knowledge..

Which program do you think would be better in my situation and also someone please gimme the secret key to the door to good samples hahaha

Sample Off Records Thats the best way dont waste too much money on sample cd's son , and think about it do u want ur production to sound like evreyone else? Think about how many people buy those cd's


As For software it dont matter what you use reason, fruity, acid, cubase they all the same thing just what ever u are more comfortable with man its not like any other ones is gonna make ur production better ur the one whos making it not the program.

If u wanna make some quick string and piano samples install reason and use your keyboard in reason bang on the keys till u got something hot and then export them as a wav that way u can just open the wavs up in acid

Thanks both for the advice... Yea I have already decided I need to get a turn table hooked up right here went a few weeks ago to get one with a digital output and since Im broke at the moment I put it on layaway LOL.. Oh well at least Ill have it in a few weeks.

I already got a grip of records to use. And I have been going back and forth on rather or not to install reason on this computer because Ive been putting off upgrading the computer I have a 120 gig harddrive new in the box and a p4 new in the box and Ive been waiting to upgrade the Ram and get an extrernal sound card as well... the way my comp is right now installing reason Is gonna hog it up So I guess I need to start to focus on getting things running a lil better then Ill come back and let you all hear some new tracks Ill make when I get it all set up...
