What's good,

Just decided to make a little intro post. I'm pretty new to making beats/music, I don't have a solid style or anything, I sort of mix it up between mainly dark/cinematic boom-bap kinda beats, a few analog-synth/ambient beats, and at the moment I've been making a lot of phonk with a lo-fi ish sound overall.

I used to get stuck in the loop of the sample a lot with my boom-bap beats the most, and not find a way to make them interesting enough unless there were vocals or I made it full of fx/perc sounds which I don't always like, so if I can get any tips/techniques that'd be a real help.

My latest track:

Safe one.

Welcome to the ILL!

What I like to do with my beats if they have samples is to add synth stuff on top, just to compliment it. This way it won't sound like just a sample-based loop or something like that.
