yep. thats it. seems cool as shit but i don't think i'd be that into programming the shit. i just want a cool looking midi controller. lol. its on the expensive side too

yup, its a monome, mostly programmed with max/msp to you're liking, what you see is deadalus's interpretation of how to use the monome. In basic its a 16x16(@max) step editor/controller with no hard-wired functions. Check this listing from their page to see the current dedicated software, for hiphop you might want to check the live sample cutting functionality.
