Very interesting video. It's nice to see this coming from a more well known artist, still using samples.

It's like he said - it sucks because you can't just clear a sample BEFORE you use it so you have to spend time to make an entire track and then possibly get turned down.

One of my musical inspirations. So dope of a peak into the world of sampling from a heavy hitter. I'm slowly understanding the concept of sampling in the modern landscape. There's a special blend that artist/producers can create when finding that special sauce. Less is more, with subtle touches to create more or less what the ear wants to hear. sampling then seems most efficient in these times as a sonic layering tool, and sugar and spice best used as one desires, while striving to achieve a royalty free sound made from special blends of creative signature techniques that many have access to by thought and sound (listening). #iLL
