Yo i got sum samples into fruity loops and now im havin a tempo problem. The tempo for the sample is to slow to add any drums to it. I wuz wonderin if you can keep the sample at one tempo, but do your drums at a different tempo. Its hard to explain but get bak at me wit sumthin....thanx

I've never done it, but it seems on depending on the complexity of the pattern it might sound weird. However, you could just play the drums proportionately closer together ( I believe this would mean shorter notes) or in the step pattern view just closer like I said to create the same sound with the slower sample. I've never had to do this myself, but it seems like it would work to me lol.

Have you tried speeding up the sample though? I know sometimes you got just an ILL sound with the sample at the speed its at but if you speed it up sometimes you can get great stuff too.

what u can do is double the tempo when u get ready to lay ur drums

...like if ya sample is at 60bpm just do ur drums at 120bpm...that will give you a better feel when layin em down

of course you'll have to double ur bars too so the loop doesnt cut the sample in half

You can use different BPMs in a track. But the BPMs you use myst be on a matematical scale. They must be dividable with eachother so it get's to be an issue about bars. So you force the samples to become 3/4bar for example over 4/4bar beats. It will sound fucked up and not all that good cuz it's not 3/4bar but it will work,

You know you can have a sample that is the doubble BPM, you can also have a sample that is 2/3 BPM.. You get what I'm after?

a trick to matching ur sample tempo is just use acid to find the tempo of the sample. but if you have a a beat planed in ur head and u want to add the sample try putting the sample in a nother key, might give ur work an unexpected but really good sound. but u should at least try to match ur snare with the snare in the sample just for masking purpose.
