hey guys,
im trying to hook up my stanton t.80 with my audiophile 2496 card via spif. Im having trouble getting the turntable to play out my speakers, which are connected to my mixer, whichc is connected to sound card. I have set my settings to spdif and i have connected the turntable's digital out to my spdif in on my soundcard. I know the fix is something simple im just too dumb to figure it out. Can anybody help me?

1) how is your mixer connected to your soundcard?
2) Does the mixer have spdif compatability (in & out)

For a conventional turntable mixer setup(mixer controls turntable volume)
The turntable should be connected to the mixer, the mixer should be connected to the soundcard, and the soundcard should go to the amp/speakers.

Or you can wire it this way and the mixer will only control the final output, not the turntable specifically.

Turntable to soundcard(and make sure spdif is activated on soundcard like fade says)
Soundcard to mixer, and mixer to speakers.
This way the mixer controls the output of the soundcard. I wouldnt wire it this way, unless I wanted to sample at the highest quality without having any interferance that the mixer could generate.
