im getting a roland vs1680 and an mpc2000 and I wanna chain both digitally to my protools le 7 serial style

basically i want to transfer the 8 outs of digital audio into the roland vs and connect the 8 tracks of digital audio into the protools

is this possible and how would it effect setting up individual tracks in the protools mixer?

I thought about doing the exact same thing, I have an 1824 though.( I think thats what it is.)

I would think that because of how the roland outs are on that , that you are only going to have 2 -1/4 " cables going into your digi interface and that all of your drum mix will be handled in the Roland.
I dont know if thats what I want to do though when PT is the shit.
It seems sorta redundant, but I have wanted to do it just to see what would happen, and so the Roland will stop collecting dust.

i basically want to use the roland as a input mixer/mastering module since it masters in 24 bit.
